چکیده
The COVID-19 pandemic, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, has had significant impacts on pulmonary function. This study aimed to comprehensively evaluate function and structure in patients 40 days post-SARS-CoV-2 infection, employing an array of testing methodologies including spirometry, plethysmography, forced oscillometry, CT scanning. It also sought establish potential correlations between these metrics if oscillometry could provide additional value post-infective lung assessment. A 40-day post-infection follow-up observational was conducted involving 66 with confirmed infection. results revealed decreases FVC FEF25–75 increasing severity COVID-19. Specifically, severe symptoms exhibited statistically (mean = 86.8) compared those mild 106.0; p 0.018). showed a similar trend, exhibiting mean 77.7 82.9 group (p 0.017). Furthermore, resonant frequency (RF) increased disease severity, increase 17.4) 14.3; 0.042). scans ground-glass opacities 81.8% demonstrating this finding 0.037). Multiple regression analysis that Reactance at 4 Hz (X4), Forced Expiratory Flow 25–75% (FEF25–75), Resonant Frequency were significantly related severity. for each unit factors, risk event estimated factor 3.16, 2.09, 1.90, respectively. Conversely, Resistance (R4) Airway (RAW) found decrease hazard, highlighting their protective role. Spirometry, are effective assessing changes. may be particularly beneficial identifying subtle changes post-COVID-19. Further studies warranted validate findings develop strategies manage patients.
